Instructor Profile

With over 17 years of service in Victoria Police — including extensive time as a Highway Patrol member — Ben brings a level of driving expertise, road‑law knowledge, and real‑world experience that few instructors can match. His career has been built on safety, precision, and professionalism, and those same values underpin every lesson he delivers.

Ben’s policing background includes advanced driver training under the internationally recognised System of Car Control, along with his qualification as a Pursuit Operative (Gold Class). He has operated and trained in a wide range of vehicles and environments, from high‑speed response driving to 4x4 off‑road operations and All Terrain Vehicle deployment. He also holds specialist credentials in road law, vehicle safety testing, and speed‑measuring device operation (laser, radar, and mobile radar).

Beyond policing, Ben serves as a CFA volunteer firefighter, including tanker driver authority and Code 1 emergency response. He has also worked as a chauffeur for politicians, VIPs, and dignitaries — roles that demand absolute professionalism, discretion, and smooth, safe driving.

This combination of frontline experience, advanced training, and community service shapes a teaching style that is calm, structured, and safety‑focused.
